Plettenberg bay
As a destination it boasts a year-round temperate climate, beautiful beaches and unrivalled scenery, as well as a culture
of conservation, living history, annual events and festivals, and a flourishing creative community. Tucked neatly into the
Garden Route, Plettenberg Bay also boasts golden beaches, a rugged peninsula and dense green forests.
Gastronomy on the Garden Route
The menu at ‘The Restaurant at The Plettenberg’ was designed by the Executive Chef, Kyle Macaskill. The restaurant
offers breathtaking views of Formosa Bay and delicious, seasonal cuisine that showcases the bay. Gourmet travelers will
discover many hidden gems when exploring the Garden Route – amongst them Fynboshoek Cheese. Bramon Wines was
the first estate to produce wine in Plettenberg Bay; it is situated in The Crags, a beautiful, mountainous area. Try their
bubbly at a tasting, or order a bottle with lunch: tapas-style dishes served at tables in the vineyard.
Bays, Beaches and Beautiful Forests
The Plettenberg, perched on a rocky headland overlooking endless views of ocean, mountain and beaches, offers the
ultimate base from which to explore the variety of outdoor activities. Plettenberg Bay boasts some of the most beautiful
beaches in South Africa, where activities such as surfing, kayaking and skimboarding are popular. Plett is said to have the
second-most temperate climate in the world (after Hawaii) and its beaches can be visited year-round, with some just a
short walk from the hotel’s doorstep.
A Cultural & Natural Sojourn
The ultimate seaside getaway, Plettenberg Bay offers a multitude of varied and unique experiences for all ages. The
Plettenberg is located within walking distance of the Lookout Art Gallery. Families will also enjoy Adventure Land in
Harkerville, with activities ranging from waterslides to quad bikes. Another must-visit is the Plett Puzzle Park, with its
life-size 3D maze – a forest puzzle walk that meanders through the natural forest, and a rope maze for the kids.
