Tour Plan

Day 1 Arrival in Tbilisi – city tour

Arrival in Tbilisi international airport. Meeting guide at the airport building (exit hall). Transfer to the city centre. Check in by 14:00
. Excursion in the capital. Explore the historical neighbourhood of Tbilisi, on the both banks of river Mtkvari. The glory of the past and the present day Tbilisi can be seen in its combined architecture: The colorful Darejani Palace is also situated on the cliff, like the nest of a swallow, Metekhi, Sioni and Anchiskhati churches stand next to soviet structures and new buildings of the President Palace, the Justice house, the famous Bridge of peace. Visit Trinity Cathedral Sameba. Lift to Narikala fortress by cable car and visit the statue of Mother of Georgia, standing proudly next to the fortress. From Narikala walk down to Sulfur bath district constructed in the XVII-XVIII centuries under Islamic architectural style. The district is also called as “Abanotubani” where several, hot sulfur springs immerged. This place is legendary which gave birth to city life even before V century. Visit Waterfall near botanical garden. Then continue the tour to Chardin Street, famous pedestrian area aligned with international cafes, small shops and Gabriadze Puppet Theater with the clock tower. Continue tour to the main avenue of Shota Rustaveli (constructed in the XIX century) with the theatres, Museums, art galleries and Parliament building. Visit Dry bridge, souvenirs and vintage market.

Day 2 Tbilisi – Gori – Uplistsikhe – Mtskheta - Tbilisi

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to visit Uplistsikhe, "the lord's fortress", is an ancient rock-hewn town in eastern Georgia. Built on a high rocky left bank of Mtkvari River, it contains various structures dating from the 2nd ML BC to the Late Middle Ages, and is notable for the unique combination of different styles of rock-cut cultures. Also, visit the Joseph Stalin Museum in Gori. The city was founded by one of the greatest kings of Georgia, David the Builder (1089– 1125). Then we drive to Mtskheta, former capital of Georgia. Mtskheta is UNESCO heritage site located at the crossing of two rivers and the ancient trade routes. Svetitskhoveli Cathedral in Mtskheta is the splendid architectural monument and the first Christian church in Georgia (XI c). It is the burial site of Georgian monarchs of Bagrationi dynasty. Jesus Christ’s robe is believed to be buried inside as well. Excursion in the city. Visit local market. Return back to Tbilisi. Overnight in Tbilisi.

Breakfast at the hotel. Start for Kakheti, known as an agricultural and wine region, stretched over Alazani Valley at the bottom of Caucasus mountains. This vast lowland with fertile soil provides convenient conditions for viticulture. Here you can combine sightseeings with tasting of gorgeous Georgian wines. Visit Sighnaghi. Excursion in a small, cozy walled town 120 km away from the capital. The city was established in the XVIII century and was fortified with 5 km long wall. Modern Sighnaghi is the beautiful architectural site of combined Georgian and Italian design. Here you can walk in the parks and cobbled streets, aligned with the local handicraft studios and markets. Climbing the wall of Sighnaghi you can enjoy a panoramic view over the Alazani valley. Afterwards visit Bodbe Monastery of St. Nino, with garden, churches and nun cells. Here is the burial place of St. Nino, illuminator of Georgia. Bodbe nunnery offers quiet and peaceful atmosphere along with the stunning view on the Caucasus mountains. Visit Winery in Kakheti. In the evening return to Tbilisi. Have time to buy souvenirs. Overnight in Tbilisi

Day 3 Tbilisi – Ananuri – Kazbegi – Gudauri – Tbilisi

Breakfast at the hotel. Meeting guide at the hotel reception. Today we drive to Kazbegi. Kazbegi is the historical settlement in the north-east of Georgia 160 km away from Tbilisi. It is sunk in the mountains, surrounded with high picks. From Kazbegi you can witness glacier Mkinvartsveri (5047 m above sea level). From the center road leads to Gergeti trinity church, located 2170 m above sea level. Gergeti is the cultural monument and one of the venerated churches in Georgia dating to the XIV century, mostly poised in the clouds from where breathe-taking view over Kazbegi and famous Darial gorge is opening. On the way the way to Kazbegi we will also pass (stop upon request) Ananuri Castle and Jinvali water reservoir of amazing beauty. Visit Gudauri Panorama and Gudauri ski resort, In the evening, drive back to Tbilisi. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 4 Tbilisi, departure day

Breakfast. Check out. Transfer from the hotel to Tbilisi airport. Departure
