Kulen Mountain (1 Apr - 31 Jul) - We visit the Kulen National Park, which contains many sites of natural, historical interest and a magnificent waterfall that dominates the forest terrain. In the nearby River of 1000 Lingas, thousands of linga stands remain submerged in the water. A short walk from the waterfall is Wat Preah Ang Thom, a functioning wat that contains one of the largest Buddha statues in the country. A viewing platform at the top affords sweeping views of the surrounding jungle and hillsides. Floating Village (1 Aug - 30 Sep) - We visit Kompong Phluk Floating Village to experience the authentic face of Cambodia and learn about life on the floating villages of Tonlé Sap Lake. After arrival at the dock, we take a boat trip to the village
Later in the afternoon, visit Wat Thmey or Killing Field which contains a unique glass-walled stupa containing the bones of victims of the Khmer Rouge. Continue visiting Satcha, the first center in Cambodia that incubates local artisans who specialize in handicrafts. We then visit Wat Bo, which contains unique wall paintings of the Reamker (Ramayana) that are said to be from late 19th century. End our visit at one of the city’s lively open markets, Psar Chars, also called the “Old Market”, where anything and everything is for sale.
In the evening, enjoy local dinner with Apsara dance show.
